Coastal Craft 400 IPS! A return to boating on True North II - 2015

We're back!

After selling our Selene Trawler, True North, in 2010, I have been "between boats" the Summer of 2015 when I purchased a 2010 Coastal Craft 400 IPS.

What a beautiful boat!

I have been admiring this brand of boat since 2008 when I came upon one in Desolation Sound.

The thinking behind what to get was governed by a desire for faster than trawler speeds, balanced with quality. Coastal Craft, HQ in Gibsons, BC (Canada) meets these criteria and many, many more.

Gibsons is located on the Sunshine Coast of BC, just west of Vancouver and specializes in aluminum boats.

True North II was built in 2010 and though 5 years old, it had only 190 hours on it when I bought it from its original caring owner.

It has twin diesel Volvo D6 435HP engines and a Volvo IPS 600 propulsion system using forward facing duo-props and the pod drives rotate to provide precise, efficient maneuverability.

I like to cruise around 20kn, though when required it can cruise at 30kn, peaking at 37 kn. It also enjoys trawler efficiency at displacement speeds of 8 knots.

The boat's craftsmanship is superb and the attention to detail is very evident throughout the boat.

President Jeff Rhodes and his team led by Gary Mulligan are customer-focused, customer-sensitive, customer-driven, customer-friendly. I encourage you to visit their web site and their factory in Gibsons. (www.coastalcraft.com)
